how it all started and how it continues!
It’s all started in 2018 and with an idea: Crete, this island where we love celebrations, needed also a feast for Yoga. The Yoga community is expanding as the practice is bringing a lot of relief and mindfulness in our lives and it was time to formalise it with a big festival!

The Yoga Festival was born!
The very first festival happened at E.O.T. We were surprised by the affluence! We had two stages and classes were running simultaneously.
Yoga instructors joined from Heraklion, Ierapetra, Sitia and Agios Nikolaos, as enthusiastic as we were to teach and practice during a full day of Yoga!
In spite of a few normal organisationnal issues, we felt that the event was very welcomed among the local population and decided that it was the beginning of a long series!Charity supported: Paidopolis Neapolis

We made it a two days event!
The second festival became an extended version of the first, with a full week-end of Yoga practice that became the norm.
We also moved to the beach of Vulisma, an idyllic site to get on our mats.
It was the first time that we brought crafters to sell their beautiful creations. stone-made decoration items, yoga eyepillows, mat bags, etc.The frequentation went a bit down because of very windy conditions, althoug the site was very peaceful but very exposed to the elements.

We skipped one year because of covid and came back in 2021
After an attempt to organise the third Yoga Festival in 2020, we decided to postpone to 2021 as the lockdown and the high level of infections had made it difficult to gather people, even in the peak of the summer.
We came back stronger (and immuned to everything?) in 2021, avid of a yoga practice and moved to our now permanent place, the Marina of Agios Nikolaos. Sea view, hyper center location, quiet area, green grass, we found what would become our festival eden!
Musicality made its entrance at the festival with various sound healers combining yoga and instruments from all over the world. We witnessed a big enthusiasm from all parts after two years of forced diet!

Our identity started to sink in!
The 4th edition was the year of the affirmation. The Yoga Festival had now a strong indentity and recognition, sponsors were more and more to get in to support our event and teachers were coming from further away to participate in this great feast.
In 2022, a Turkish teacher came to join us!
As the participation kept increasing, donations too and we were very happy to support more and more important causes year by year!Charity supported : The Other Man (social kitchen).

2023 a year of many changes
The fifth Yoga Festival was a challenging one for the organisers! In the midst fo some other changes such as the move to a new studio in Agios Nikolaos, all of it fell at the same time, at the end of very busy and hot summer!
The enthusiasm of both Yoga Instructors and Students made it very worthwhile, with an attendance and donation record this year!
More and more musicality, a new experience of aerial yoga by the nautic club, and some improvements that made the diffrence made it a year giving us all the feels to continue this great human experience!
